Victoria's Settlement

Victoria's Settlement

“Well, what will our closing act be? It was so good Jack. But, I suppose all good things end. We could have made it until death do us part. But let’s not end on a bad note. Give me a kiss and let us be friends.”
“Oh honey, we sure gave it our best. It is all over but the legalities.”
“Let’s not delve into that just yet. But tell me, will you think of me when you drive that Porsche down Ventura Highway? Will you remember our times parking at the beach and necking?”
“Oh honey, I want you to have the Porsche.”
“Darling, you are a gentleman when the dust settles. I always admired what a man you are even when we argue.”
“I hope you still think that when I make my proposal for the settlement.”
“Why wouldn’t I? You have always treated me fairly it is just that we have grown apart.”
“Well, I’ll give you a teaser for what I have in mind. Of course, we will sell the house and split the proceeds. And I love remembering your hair blowing in the slipstream of the sports car while driving by the ocean. But I need just one little keepsake to remember you by.”
“Anything of course. You can keep the photo albums.”
“Well, I have in mind to keep your lingerie. I hope that doesn’t sound too weird. It is just that I have fond memories of our bedroom times and well that is my only stipulation in exchange for you taking the Porsche.”
“Well, I must ask what will you do with them?”
“Just think of how that Porsche will feel purring against your seat when you rev it up.”
“Ok, you’ve convinced me. But I want this put in the settlement by my lawyer.”
“You know I would want that too. It will be clearly stated on paper.”
“Promise me you aren’t keeping them as a form of making me a trophy like the football ones you keep on the mantle.”
“You have my word on that. When the nights get lonely I’ll touch them
and feel your spirit as though you were there.”
“You always were such a romantic. And don’t show them to your guy friends to brag about the lady you once had. That wouldn’t suit me at all.”
“I will make an altar with them as sacred vestments that only I will pray by to the Goddess that you are.”
“That Porsche for panties deal is sounding sweeter by the minute. Now kiss me and tell me everything will be alright.”
“All will be well. Do you mind if I put a pair on the rabbit ears of the TV antenna to remember you getting my beer while I watched football?”
“You can do that just don’t watch anything untoward on the tele with my sacred apparel right there.”
“I’ll think of you as those broadcasts beam through your cotton undies and onto my screen while watching quality foreign movies.”
“And I bet the French ones with those beautiful Parisian actresses on PBS. But you know I loved seeing those beautiful starlets with you. So go for it. In fact, I like the thought of you thinking of me when you watch artfully sensitive romances. It sort of appeals to me that you still are attracted to me even if our only connection is only through my intimate apparel. Why don’t you wear them to sleep? You can feel the very same cotton that once held my private heaven while aching for me.”
“Don’t rub it in my darling. But feeling your fabric against my bare skin at night is appealing.”
“I don’t have to rub it in. You will do it for me.”
“Well then let’s do a toast with your tomato juice to amicable divorces everywhere.”
“You still make me laugh. Go ahead and rummage through my dresser drawers for panties and bras galore.”
“That can wait. It is Christmas. Let’s dance under the mistletoe before we go our separate ways.”
“I have a feeling we haven’t seen the last of each other. Call it women’s intuition.”
