time expands in my chest and my heart drums
night reveals its thoughts
will I outgrow my childish fears?

I wish to evolve but not lose my wonderment
coming to the edge I gaze
the beauty of the art confuses

sync with the breath of the soul
solitary woman of thought stretching
I touch the expanses and wander

trepidation, my instincts sharp
chosen nightingale singing in c sharp
the opera is being sung

am I hanging back out of fear or wisdom?

looming in the background is faith
shining in the gloom
my immortality glimmers
