Sleep
I sleep on the floor tonight,
no wood, stone nor carpet
no, a protest, a cry for help, unrelenting numbness
I lay in the vast room of my mind
unfinished tasks; broken dreams; mouldy pots and greasy hair
I long to stand, to sleep in my own bed
my lungs hurt, my head hurts
I'm not moving
I feel I've lost something important
but now I'm just a rug in the vast room
tonight and forever I will sleep on the floor
no wood, stone nor carpet
no, a protest, a cry for help, unrelenting numbness
I lay in the vast room of my mind
unfinished tasks; broken dreams; mouldy pots and greasy hair
I long to stand, to sleep in my own bed
my lungs hurt, my head hurts
I'm not moving
I feel I've lost something important
but now I'm just a rug in the vast room
tonight and forever I will sleep on the floor
