Saturn Through a Telescope

Saturn through a telescope
is bite sized,
like something you could scoop up from a bowl
with a spoon

Saturn's rings through a telescope
look like a little Hula hoop
or like the part of a plastic Saturn toy
a toddler would grip

Saturn through a low-powered telescope
does a bit of a hula itself
before coming into view
But then there it is.

As you peer into the telescope,
it's a portal to a two dimensional object

But for some
its a portal
to questions that form at the speed of light.
Questions that can't be answered
by anyone on Earth.

Author's Note
I asked "Have you ever seen Saturn through a telescope?" In the Have You Ever forum, and my childhood experience of doing so suddenly came back to me.
