To do what is expected of you can be the most difficult decision.
It can affect those around you,
Maybe even more than it affects yourself.
It is something that will always have consequences that can not be escaped.

Some expectations come naturally.
The expectation to survive is one of the most common of these.
It is also the most difficult to meet.
You could be called a victim or a selfish child.

Either of these titles could be used.
The question is whether or not the titles are correct.
They are often the result of fear or jealousy.
Some sprout simply from plain ignorance towards the situation.

The worst title of them all would be the one that was true.
Whether the title be hero or villain,
The truth is what hurts the most.
That is the lesson I have learned throughout the years.

The ones who mislabel those who failed to meet this expectation,
Are those who feel as if they identify with such a label.
The title is theirs for the taking,
But no one would like to take the title of the truth.

A little secret that not many know.
No one,
And I do mean no one,
Knows the full and honest truth.
