A Distant Kinda Country
Your lips speak prayers
But your eyes play with fire
And I don't know if our story will ever be told
But I know there's a story
From the first time I saw you
I knew
And I knew you knew
That glance
Soft
Trailing fire
If there's wrong in this
The wrong is mine
Wrong to everything but truth
You're my heart's piercing
Stumbling words around feelings
Worlds apart but here
Now
As if we've always known
...And haven't we
No denials
No promises
Just distance
Country miles
And the trying to find bridges
With pieces that won't fit
Except when we're together
And you look at me
Blue into my hazel
And nothing else matters
But your eyes play with fire
And I don't know if our story will ever be told
But I know there's a story
From the first time I saw you
I knew
And I knew you knew
That glance
Soft
Trailing fire
If there's wrong in this
The wrong is mine
Wrong to everything but truth
You're my heart's piercing
Stumbling words around feelings
Worlds apart but here
Now
As if we've always known
...And haven't we
No denials
No promises
Just distance
Country miles
And the trying to find bridges
With pieces that won't fit
Except when we're together
And you look at me
Blue into my hazel
And nothing else matters
