Take a Look in the Mirror
Some would call me heartless
Others would claim that I’ve lost my way
Rather than spreading gossip
You should observe me day by day.
-
The struggles that I go through
Each threaten to push me down
I plan on collecting what I’m due
To turn my life back around.
-
Take a look in the mirror, before you judge someone else
Cruel remarks are too natural in this day and age
Everyone has their struggles, stuck in their version of hell
Lord, give me strength to make it through another day.
-
I endure, I survive, I yell out my battle cry
For what else can I do until my time is up?
I dream, and I yearn to reach out for the sky
Before my wings shrivel up in a thick coat of rust.
Others would claim that I’ve lost my way
Rather than spreading gossip
You should observe me day by day.
