Patio
Something borrowed, cheap disguise
Something dying in blue eyes
I know this was not what you wanted
We never talk about what you wanted
Something snapped in my brain
Something to match your pain
Before you rose a summer phantom
Before I dove into autumn wisdom
On the patio, another ultimatum
Afraid of losing friends
So you go ahead and play them
Another cheap exit
Slamming shut the car door
Should have stayed in traffic
But you never wanted closure
Darling you are playful
You love to choose the ending
You never wanted more
Because you're too good at pretending
So I'll be there, but only when it's pouring
They'll call you God again
When I pierce straight through and enter.
Something dying in blue eyes
I know this was not what you wanted
We never talk about what you wanted
Something snapped in my brain
Something to match your pain
Before you rose a summer phantom
Before I dove into autumn wisdom
On the patio, another ultimatum
Afraid of losing friends
So you go ahead and play them
Another cheap exit
Slamming shut the car door
Should have stayed in traffic
But you never wanted closure
Darling you are playful
You love to choose the ending
You never wanted more
Because you're too good at pretending
So I'll be there, but only when it's pouring
They'll call you God again
When I pierce straight through and enter.
