Sometimes

  Sometimes i have to get lost
to find my way,
sometimes i must embrace the darkness
to appreciate the day,
sometimes i must die
before i can live,
sometimes i must take
before i can give.
i live in a world of doubt and confusion
not knowing for sure what is real or just an illusion.
Running in circles like a dog chasing it's tail,
sometimes before i can succeed
i first must fail.
Sometimes i must remember
before i can forget,
sometimes it seems the farther i go,
the farther behind i get,
but onward i press with one thought in mind
that someday, somewhere,
what i'm looking for, i might find.
