I live through paintings and poems
Those are the books I read
Those are the pages I devour.

I get lost in The Starry Night
Sit quietly in Hopper's houses
Scream with the pope in Frances Bacon
Make my heart warm as I read Whitman;
Find sad parts of myself in Sylvia's poems
Goya reminds me of the dark side of us all.

Bukowski helps me digest bitter realities
Magritte frightens my confusion
Frost gives me words to speak with nature
And Carravagio brings me closer to God.

All the poems I have read, all the paintings I have seen
Makes the world so big as I lay in my world
My surrounding doesn't seem so dull or little
When there are endless worlds to look at; to read; to learn; to compare
The past from the present.
