Stronger
I can't stand the sight of sun-kissed hair
It reminds me too much of you
Despite my dislike, I can't help but stare
As past lies envelop themselves in half truths.

Why did you let me go?
Was your affection for me merely superficial?
What happened to now and forever?
And the effort we put into building a life together.
-
We're no longer on the same page
You lusted for eternal youth; I wanted us to grow with age
I suppose I never understood you at all
And now I've come out stronger after the fall.

Very dear Lunas,
It's a very deep poem, and full of true emotions. Of course, l understand you are not talking about yourself because you are still young, but about your emotions towards such a man who loves when his girlfriend is young, and he leaves her when she gets old. However, it is very clear that you write about deep subjects from real life, and that's why l like your poetry. What do you mean by, "And now l've come out stronger after the fall."

Thank you for the comment and for adding my poem to your reading list. I write my poems partially based on what I have experienced, but other times common themes that I wish to allow the readers to sympathize with. At some point in our lives, we go through the dark night of the soul. When we come out of that, we arise stronger than after the fall.

I appreciate the sense of an epistle here, a deep unveiling of that which perhaps wasn't said, sent out like a message in a bottle. Your close has a sense of time and catharsis perhaps.
