Cruel and angry words
Spoken more in fear of loss than in hate
But hurting nonetheless
Trying to get the last licks in before we move apart
It pains me more to know that I was hurt by trust
I let down my guard again
For the first time in a long time
And see what it's gotten me
Just another fight that leads to loneliness
It's just so hard
Trying to guess who you can believe won't damage you
It's always a crap shoot
And I've come up a loser once again
Time will come and go I know
And I'll decide to trust my heart and believe
In someone new
I can only hope I won't be so desperately wrong
