A Flying Fish

A Dragonfly
And a Hummingbird
Met over a pond one day
They studied each other
As small ripples
Appeared upon the pond
As did their shadows
Soon
Many a fish
Could be seen
Staring at the insect
And the bird
When seemingly, out of nowhere
Appeared a Flying Fish
As it's wet, and slippery wings
Glided through the air
Catching the Dragonfly
Mid-flight, and totally unaware
The Hummingbird, meanwhile
So saddened
At the loss
Of this new, and ill-fated friend
It hummed no more
