SUN PRAYER

oh, bright
and mighty king,
earth's holy star
risen from blessed sleep
to bring this warm day
and all days
and all seasons

celestial wonder
lighting cathedral dome
of bluest sky
and feeding all that lives
on this green earth,
ancient fire,
dazzling orb
and warm respite
for weak and strong
and good and evil
of all the ages --
bless this good day
with your bright
countenance,
this i pray
from deepest heart
