Little Things
I sang in the shower today.
Now to some, that may not seem like much.
To me, it means everything.
Because once upon a time,
I found out that depression riddled my body.
It swarmed and infected me,
Resounding off the walls of my mind.
It scraped the memory bank,
Trudging around,
Littering ideas that I never thought I’d have.
There are days that coul- no, SHOULD be normal.
Instead I’m rendered immobile under the sheets.
And I get it, my sheets are comfy
But damn.
So yes, I sang in the shower today.
I enjoyed every minute of it- might have done a little dance too.
Because it’s the little victories that let me wake up in the morning.
