Winter Chill

Icy winter wind
Enfolds my heart
In an icy grip
Of desperation.
And despair
The icy weight
Presses me down
Into darkness
Will it ever end
Will it never end
Why not now?

Take me now I plead
Begging the dark lords
So that I can be freed
And join the dead hordes
Shuffling away from here
Into sweet dark oblivion
Where there is no fear
Let me join that legion.

When winters ice is gone
Spring brings life again
I hope that you will pardon
Me for I'll be free of pain
Author's Note
I read about the Emo / Gothic challenge, read up on Goth / Emo poetry and my mad muse said, "I know how to do that!"
And she does too. I usually restrain her, but this time, I let her loose.
