The Storm of Devastation
The storm of devastation struggled within me.
It wanted to burst out like heavy rain, but I suppressed it.
The storm of hatred of myself;
Of the pain that I gave you;
Of the guilt, that I hurt you.
There's a fire within my heart.
I'll burn in repentance for making you hurt.
Clouds of poisonous rain,
Struggling to shower upon my sinful essence;
But, I'll restrain them from gushing;
'Cause I won't let you know that I know what you don't want me to know,
That you want me to leave,
That I'm no longer needed,
That you are sick of me,
That you don't feel the way I feel.
So, I'll go
With a happy face,
With a faking smile,
Pretending that I'm purged of all my sins,
Though deep within I know that I'm still repenting.
And you'll go
Pretending that you've forgiven me,
That I'm still your Muse;
But, deep within you know that you've distanced yourself from me. . .
