All I have to give
On my death I shall have the self same grin
as is bestowed on the richest of folk,
no banker or the most powerful prince
will be grinning at a more fulsome joke.
I've the one mouth to take in my pleasure
the wealthiest of all, they, have no more,
so I'll not be jealous of the him or her
who have just two lips, as I, to adore
their loves, as me, they've no more arms than I
to enfold you and to keep you from harm
and only two hands, like me, to bring a sigh
or to soothe a troubled brow with soft palm.
I have no hidden wealth to offer up
but treasure of love on which we will live,
so take my heart, arms, lips from which to sup
'tisn't much but, it's all I have to give...
