Driving in the Rain

driving in the rain at night
wipers whooshing streak
passing under each streetlight
whooshing wipers squeak

splashing through accumulated
puddles on the road
sky ocean with which I'm elated
to share its liquid load

of water molecules in raindrops
tumbling from the skies
crashing into earth where each stops
becoming as it lies

trickles, streams and rivers rushing
pulled by gravity
always moving, sometimes gushing,
journey to the sea...

driving in the rain with splashing
water everywhere
wind blown gusts, a liquid lashing
in the stormy air

wipers whooshing in the nighttime
brake lights, going slow
driving in the rain's the right time
to travel in the flow...
