Into the Future

into the future from the past
hovering always, seeming to last
in a perpetual in between
what came before and the next dream

onwards and onwards while standing still
always in motion over the hill
beyond the horizon simply to find
there's no escape from one's own mind -

seeing the beauty, creating more
living in peace, living before
becoming distracted, desires inflamed
then feeling compassion, for all it's the same

waking and sleeping, working and play
loving and leaving, no one can stay
lifetimes in minutes, hours flashing by
looking for answers, not knowing why

hovering always in between
yesterday's memories and the next dream
senses distracted, desires inflamed
feeling compassion, we're all the same...,
