Melody

when pleasure, in your eyes shines
full of sweetness, full of growth
 when the charms of youth
embelish your graceful lines
much often, then, i sigh !!

 thinking that the bitter sorrow
as today, far from you, can affect you tomorrow
and from your lovely lips erase the smile

for, time, drags after it, you know
''the faded illusions''
and the dead eyes, and the graceless friends
 and the cheated future visions

but believe me my love, all these growing charms
that i behold with much drunkeness
  if ever they would swoon in my caressing arms;
you would still have my tenderness

 if your charms had faded
and you lost your sweet smile
your beloved graceful lines waned
and all that in you i admire

go, my heart is sincere, you could
from its sincerity, make everything happen
and my love defeating time and destiny would
entwine with you more ardent and, tenderly fasten

yes, if you would lose all the charms of today
i would sob for you, but in this faithful heart
i would find a sweetness' new start
and when your lovers will leave you away

that in torments, needless to be envious
a burning passion would come to stir me
*just me, because in this world you see
there's only me, to love this flame, am delirious  ! *

but, what can i predict, while youthfulness
surrounds you with glow, alas ! surely fading
you never can trust a hearts' tenderness
. that times will not change what in it, is hiding

you will know it, with his age growing old
a constant love is like a sun flower
that stays open to the rising sun, never folds
even when the sun fades away in dying hour
