I Deserve It

the life of lies
I have lived for so long
has died in the light
as I discovered what was wrong

I deserve all the hell
in this cursed world
if I hide I'll burn in the shell
trapped within the mind of a misguided girl

please beat me and curse me
I deserve it, it's true
my guilt won't ever let me be
I give this permission to all of you

submerge me in acid
I will never complain
feed me meat gone rancid
I'll be forever grateful, no disdain

trap me in a tank of jellyfish
strap a bomb to my back
leave me as a cougar's dish
and laugh as he attacks

I deserve it, I deserve it
I am the angel who fell
I am nothing other than shit
please make my life hell

deliver me to the devil
in the belly of a beast
let my evil be punished by evil
I deserve love the least

and when you're finally through
toss me away like a doll
be the child who found something new
and leave me laying in the corner of a wall

What comes flooding through my mind is some of the people many would equate with committing the most horrible crimes known to humankind. If you are in fact directing these words to yourself, I am somewhat confidant that you weren't around during WWII. Probably ditto for what went on in Southeast Asia during the 60ies and 70ies, or Charles Manson's group. I doubt if you are on the UN or Amnesty International's Human Rights Watch List. So maybe if you are up to it, the subject of another poem might be WHY you "deserve it".
