Resilience

I feel your voice vibrate within
As it lulls my heart to a calm beat
You show me a glimpse of whom I could have been
And how that dream is still within reach

I have made it across the sea
A feat I had once thought impossible
And now I lie under the dreamy tree
With the will there is a way to make anything possible

I hold on to resilience
As I take on these brutal beatings
Out of the darkness sparked your brilliance
And fed me sweet nectar in a glorious feasting

You reconciled me with my inner child
Even though I had thought the bond was cut
I had missed the part of me still free and wild
Yet I still need to remind myself to trust my gut

It was resilience that saved my life
And faith that I would ascend to a higher plain
I was able to disengage from strife
Where peace and love were all that remained

As I have learned to let go of fear
