Umbra, Awakened
Exhaling glass into the air
inhaling shards back through
her hair, flailing madness in the dark
dancing dreams of candles, dying sparks
slipping into worlds swirling
liquid metal in her glass,
lovely poison glistening
grinning eyes made of matter
and it looks like glass-
And as the passage opens filling
ice into the room I'm laughing
at the pain I feel reaching up
to feel her bloom
Underneath the crescent moon
her eyes shift to colors my mind
could never grasp and as she breathes
deeply with lips parting mine and fingers
darting for the heart beating faster
in my chest I can see with depth none could fathom,
a chasm of regret
a void where nothing matters
and the love once spilled now
rancid with ferment
Eyes wide shut and falling
towards the sun,
burning, hoping, peeling flesh
until I'm nothing, something helpless
raw and broken, empty shell
regressing yet ascending,
growing, neverending
bleeding colors as I come undone
watch them running down her body
watch her drinking essence
sweet like honey melting ambers
on her tongue
As my eyes open once more
I shudder in the wake of renewal
watching the way she watches me
with her eyes of glass and
galaxies floating in the light
of a room where I have no future
and there is no past
and so I gaze down into my hands
transluscent, beating
a heart sitting there in my palms
and she smiles, razor teeth
gleaming ruby waiting, patient,
breathing softly
as I make my choice
inhaling shards back through
her hair, flailing madness in the dark
dancing dreams of candles, dying sparks
slipping into worlds swirling
liquid metal in her glass,
lovely poison glistening
grinning eyes made of matter
and it looks like glass-
And as the passage opens filling
ice into the room I'm laughing
at the pain I feel reaching up
to feel her bloom
Underneath the crescent moon
