THE FEELING WE CAN'T IGNORE
THE FEELING WE CAN'T IGNORE
The Lord is love that gives great joy.
What is that joy which love creates
inside a child towards his mum
which is like that we have for God?
It is strong passion of a kind
that moves the spirit to a need
which none on earth can satisfy
but that pure touch that she can give.
The pull we feel towards the Lord
is just the same ethereal charm
that draws the child to that great source
which can endow the breath of life.
No wonder we have all this need;
there is in us a part of Him.
We yearn to That Who gives the soul
to make us feel we have no end.

So the

is not only a
"strong passion of a kind
that moves the [his?] spirit to a need
but one that does (contra C.S. Lewis) have an earthly satisfaction, namely,
"that pure touch that"
mothers can give to their sons?

Even assuming that Jesus gives a soul to anyone (there's no scriptural warrant for this idea), let alone THE soul (which one?}, is making us feel that we have no end the reason he gives it to us? And since what he gives is something that only makes us FEEL something, aren't you saying that there's a very real possibility that we are being fooled? If not, shouldn't you have said something like
"he gives us "the soul" to make us see/know we have no end"? \
And do all people yearn for Jesus?
