Breathe
The world breathes when you stop to rest
The sharp intake of waves crashing on shoreline
Followed by the fierce and heavy exhale of wind
In
And out
Feel the weight leave your shoulders
The elephant step off your chest
Feel the sorrow drain from your bones
The pain leech from your skin
She breathes easier when you are still
Deep breaths, that reach the narrowest crevices of her being and refresh the dampest parts of her soul
In and out
Tell me
When did you last take a breath?
The sharp intake of waves crashing on shoreline
Followed by the fierce and heavy exhale of wind
In
And out
Feel the weight leave your shoulders
The elephant step off your chest
Feel the sorrow drain from your bones
The pain leech from your skin
She breathes easier when you are still
Deep breaths, that reach the narrowest crevices of her being and refresh the dampest parts of her soul
In and out
Tell me
When did you last take a breath?
