Multifactorial It Is (Not All Is About Politicians)

Whine and moan, complain about politicians
the call of the day
might I politely suggest
something more at play

Yes they should be held accountable
but it is about time that we see
that they don't operate in insolation
the problem includes you and me

There are enough people who don't even vote
to tip the power anyway they seem fit
like a pitcher and catcher who don't comprehend
the baseballs are in their mitts

Officeholders are indeed components of society
they run off of money and get people to vote
they aren't one note Johnnys
we are all one the boat

By living in the country we for the most part
consent to what they do
even the Trumpsters pay bit of taxes
yes they are a part of the pot of stew

Do we hold the media accountable
for how they give garbage and largely entertain
the quality analysis of important topics
left or right goes down the drain

Go to the store you can pick from over 20 cereals
but your office only two options do they share
the D or the R so bipolar
which is why people say they really don't care

Comes back to the citizens
some will object and yet they won't even vote
then are agitated by the homeless person they see
barely functioning with a worn and weather coat

Not just a government official responsible
for the institutions in or not in place are more
and the causes of homelessness are a myriad
human behavior my be troublesome but not a bore

Those representative in power
still must court voters and donors to run
don't get where they are by being nonsocial
obtaining the amounts of money for office is never fun

Donors, individuals and groups
sustain politicians and keep them seated
trust me if they don't use the system
so quickly they will be defeated

So do all your bad mouthing
denigrate the people who makes laws
but keep in mind society is still a group of humans
more than government figures that deserve the claws!
