Burn It Down
Cold, steel grey, as time and distance fades
Feelings bleed. I've long been used to my own blood
And the fog of early cool mornings
When I walk and nothings clear but darkness in all its shades
But heavenward theres stars a flood
Though silence lies in stillness like a warning
Cover me, cover me like darkness
As I fall like night, I am, it is, inevitable
Beginnings. Endings. Circles and cycles,
And this misty path lost in my thoughts starkness
I remember once I thundered blackness
And the reverberations still wince
Narcotic. Steep my poison
Like hemlock mingled with your tea
Your lipstick on the cup, plumb the dregs
Read them like tea leaves
Have we a future there
Or do we burn it down
Feelings bleed. I've long been used to my own blood
And the fog of early cool mornings
When I walk and nothings clear but darkness in all its shades
But heavenward theres stars a flood
Though silence lies in stillness like a warning
Cover me, cover me like darkness
As I fall like night, I am, it is, inevitable
Beginnings. Endings. Circles and cycles,
And this misty path lost in my thoughts starkness
I remember once I thundered blackness
And the reverberations still wince
Narcotic. Steep my poison
Like hemlock mingled with your tea
Your lipstick on the cup, plumb the dregs
Read them like tea leaves
Have we a future there
Or do we burn it down
