It’s 2am
I’m here at your door
About to knock
Not yet
If you would just let me in
I can explain
this random behaviour
Just let me begin
All that I want
is to lie with you, where lucid dreams unveil
Those long forgotten memories
Of fresh and breezy days
What would it take
To bring you closer
A lifetime of snapshots
And six thousand tears
Now everything’s changed
You have forgotten
But I remember
Deeply etched imprints
You forged on my mind
A welcome escape
From the grips of yesterday
The connections remain
Lost but not broken
Let me in
