Paused

I paused,  
hovering over you  
to feel the strong pull of  
desire between us.  
 
The crackling of static electricity  
arced at the gap made by my rising.
Looking down at you, I thought of the  
arcing plasma ball that captured my  
imagination in school.
 
You didn't know my thoughts but drew me  
back to where we’d been coupled seconds before.  
Some forces in nature can't be denied.
