Wretched Moonlight

Wretched Moonlight

Wretched Moonlight,
have you no shame
that such a beacon
breathes so exactly
upon an Earthen Clay?

What endless end
of mercy
must you wish
to shine so merciless
into this space
and heartless rip
the shadows
from the door.

Unabashed,
a recklessness
inebriating all
and saving none,
and this your legacy
of gilted auras
vast and
unencumbered,
more awful than
the rain that leaves
a rainbow
in the brain.
