Curiosity turned stone through ties

I was the accident that was beaten into your head by accident  
 
Intrigued by the constant thoughts you contemplated pursuing  
 
Tied in both ends we decide to locked understandings
 
Patience played roles larger than words can say  
 
Contact remained though locations changed  
 
Access to each other became concrete & emotions intervened
 
Promises made & broken but believed otherwise in our dreams
 
Family gatherings brought us closer than we should’ve been
 
Hard to rekindle when past mistakes aren’t learned from  
 
No energy to run to you so I dragged my feet
 
We moved on but kept the forbidden door cracked
