Wherever You Are

A quiet dream filled with fire burning bright
Overtaking your life like a beautiful symphony
Burning your perfect little existence into ash
Then the lonely ocean will wash it all away

A window to look into, to see what’s gone
Like dark clouds receding, but they don’t die
They live forever, until the fall of the pale ones
Who tell you how to live and breathe

The closet in the basement, filled with skeletons
Beating their bones like an orchestra for your amusement
They’ll kill what you thought was a chance
And make you feel like the king of the damned

A pathway to another age, where the earth is whole
And man never made its cruel mark upon the core
To find some state of emptiness there and die
But with peace in your heart, and tears of joy in your eyes

A day where the hopeless make their escape
They all fall down, like rain upon the holy ground
Send them to kingdom come, my priestess
And they’ll walk eternally in golden fields

A moment where the sound disappeared from your ears
And everything was desolate and lost for us all
Cruel makers of the devastation laugh at you
And eat the fetuses of crying wannabe mothers

The feeling of nonexistence, lingering in your mind
But you’re here still; there must still be a reason
Lost in time, though, forgotten to any and all
Even so, the legend lives on in you

The sign that points to nowhere, just a dead end
Where we have all collected, and are rusting away
We’d rather burn out like a candle that lighted the way
For those who still had a path, a purpose

A dream so vivid, you write it like a story
That never has to end, because it seems so perfect
But at some point, we all have to wake up
And realize that dreams sometimes don’t come true

A reality filled with black, but the sun will shine once again
Just believe in the cries of the angel of death
For tomorrow, everything will change
Everything will make sense, wherever you are
