A Mermaid’s Diary (A short collection of haikus)
Forbidden in tide,
Swam your Pacific again
The sea died tonight.
Sirens croon your vow
Shells warble you, last decade,
brooks guide me afresh.
Dampened memory,
Breathing oxygen to me
I've bubbled in your eyes.
Scintillated howl,
Caterwauls filling your void,
Blind me in this eve.
Misted coins you left,
Stabbed beneath the crescent pearl,
Wink in failed yearning.

These are a really lovely collection of poetic tides. If mermaids were to exists today, given the human fondness for destruction, do you think they would wish to swim to shore?
