Love and Pain
I burn my hand on the stove
and think of food prepared with love.
Breaking my toe kicking furniture
and think of my love for trees
and a craftsmen's dedication and work.
As I hold love close to my soul,
I also point a dagger toward my heart,
for within love lays the seeds of my destruction,
and I say "let them grow".
I will water, nurture, and feed them,
and so share your heartache and sorrow,
for this is the power of love,
this is the power I give to you,
and this my sacred pledge.
To love you to the end of time,
consecrating this promise with blood,
and sealing it with a kiss,
your pain is now my all,
as I am brought to my knees,
weeping in joy and agony
and think of food prepared with love.
Breaking my toe kicking furniture
and think of my love for trees
and a craftsmen's dedication and work.
As I hold love close to my soul,
I also point a dagger toward my heart,
for within love lays the seeds of my destruction,
and I say "let them grow".
I will water, nurture, and feed them,
and so share your heartache and sorrow,
for this is the power of love,
this is the power I give to you,
and this my sacred pledge.
To love you to the end of time,
consecrating this promise with blood,
and sealing it with a kiss,
your pain is now my all,
as I am brought to my knees,
weeping in joy and agony
