Angel Boy

Today we honour
your birth, death and life.
The sadness and joy
our little angel boy

Will you celebrate
your birthday in heaven?
Will angels cheer
as you turn eleven?

Time passes
in the blink of an eye.
Seems like yesterday
we held you and said goodbye.

Eleven years young
Independent
Mischievous
Full of fun

Photos on the wall,
memories in our mind.
Never forgotten,
although frozen in time

Borrowed from heaven
for just a little while.
You delivered a gift
in the form of a child.

Your parents were chosen
the circumstances set.
The universes design
perfectly timed.

Our little boy
not destined to become a man
but the gift you bestowed
helps us understand.

Healing arises from sorrow
Wisdom from pain
Growth from tragedy
Devastation strengthens family

The gift you imparted
few familes receive
Your birthday a reminder,
of why you were born to leave.
