A Light Reflected
Reaching the sky
Spires to touch the heavens
The sun refracting of the glass
Like fingers reaching for a dream
Reaching towards a future
A destination unhindered
The ground roared
Shaking, a brief moment
A brief flash struck
Stones falling
Crashing to the earth, dust rising to settle
Rain came, went for days, weeks
Months turned to years
Nothing stirred, no sound to be heard
Alone the structure stood
Cold seeping into its open windows
Crawling across its floors
Warmth of life inside now fading
Winters chills frozen against its stone
Seasons come and the building still stands tall
A glass shard left over exposed to the sky
A finger as if reaching for a ray of sun
A sliver of heat and light casts out
Casts out to a world that once was
A world of a long ago
A time of a distant past
Waiting for life to return
A beacon shining the way home
Spires to touch the heavens
The sun refracting of the glass
Like fingers reaching for a dream
Reaching towards a future
A destination unhindered
The ground roared
Shaking, a brief moment
A brief flash struck
Stones falling
Crashing to the earth, dust rising to settle
Rain came, went for days, weeks
Months turned to years
Nothing stirred, no sound to be heard
Alone the structure stood
Cold seeping into its open windows
Crawling across its floors
Warmth of life inside now fading
Winters chills frozen against its stone
Seasons come and the building still stands tall
A glass shard left over exposed to the sky
A finger as if reaching for a ray of sun
A sliver of heat and light casts out
Casts out to a world that once was
A world of a long ago
A time of a distant past
Waiting for life to return
A beacon shining the way home
