Germination
Invitations were extended as we sat in the garden
Gazing into each other’s eyes melting hearts that had harden
Each word spoken was like a tilling of the soil
Our words plowing through our emotions, the fertility for which we toiled
You opening up allowing our share to move back and forth
Turning over hard brittle ground to soil that is nice and moist
Only your seeds were planted, one passionate row at a time
Only your flowers were allowed to grow at will, everywhere
Here in the garden, around the terrace, up and down the stairs
Your flowers are you, a multitude of attitudes, hues, and scents
Your complexity and beauty is bewildering, and draws me to your altar to repent
A virgin must be sacrificed, pure of body, mind, and heart
As I lay myself upon your altar I watch as your petals part
The nectar that you release nourishes the neediest parts of me
It’s hard to believe that this entire garden is the work of a single bee
Please spread those petals and allow me to suck on your stamen
Open up and allow me to pollinate you again and again
The flow of your nectar is a waterfall, irrigation from the source
Deflowering you deeper brings us both satisfaction with a germinating force
