Mom's Birthday
Mom's Birthday
October 21st, the day you were born,
We celebrated so many birthdays
but since 2020 they are not the same
I wish you were here to see your grandson be born
So you can talk in baby talk like you used to
I miss you but I know that you are no longer suffering
physically and emotionally
I miss you yelling at us and hearing
your voice from outside of the front door
Smelling the food you would cook and making decisions based on the advice you would give us
You always made a difference in the lives of everyone you met
Everyone would call you "mommy" because that's how you made them feel
As October approaches memories come flooding back
You were always the glue that held everything together
You were the rock of the family, the matriarch
A mother that never gave up
Happy Birthday Mom
May you celebrate this birthday playing dominoes
And drinking Coronas in heaven
