40 Dollar Room
I once danced naked for her
in a 40 dollar room
Moving with precision/
moved by the symphonies of her grace
Our love razor sharp
If she had sliced my soul wide open at that point
with the sharp scalpel of her eyes
I would not have flinched
Just to be there wide open
Just to be her child of that precise moment
She watched intently, bemused with that smile
thin and sweet like a chocolate wafer
I fell to the bed drunk and dizzy
on sex and candlelight and
the magic of that room
I feel openly into her tender horizons
I had moved freely beyond the limits
of my flesh
I cried like a night sky weeping
moving then within the galaxies of her grace
in a 40 dollar room
Moving with precision/
moved by the symphonies of her grace
Our love razor sharp
If she had sliced my soul wide open at that point
with the sharp scalpel of her eyes
I would not have flinched
Just to be there wide open
Just to be her child of that precise moment
She watched intently, bemused with that smile
thin and sweet like a chocolate wafer
I fell to the bed drunk and dizzy
on sex and candlelight and
the magic of that room
I feel openly into her tender horizons
I had moved freely beyond the limits
of my flesh
I cried like a night sky weeping
moving then within the galaxies of her grace
