Subdued

Oh fat and hazy gibbous moon
So binding is your midnight spell
That wildflowers seem to swoon
Wherever your last moonbeam fell,
Softening summer's torrid air
With bachelor button breezes
And foxglove blooms, surpassing fair,
Nod just as the airflow pleases
For Zephyrs too are charmed as well
And drift into her lunar scheme
Where solar riot she can quell
With the power of her pale beam
Whose terminus conveys the gleam
Seen in every mortal dream!
