Image for the poem GATHERED BEHIND A SHEET

GATHERED BEHIND A SHEET

Her modesty gathered behind a sheet,
she stood before the mirror, nude complete,
while the photographer clicked away
bedroom curtains drawn against the light of day,
looking at the mirror, then towards him
capturing the curves of her body slim.

Her clearness of skin, the curve of her back
and the calves of her legs, spine's downward track,
he captured from every direction
but not like a clinical inspection.
The atmosphere between them was relaxed,
while view of her skin progressively maxed.

'Good' he said, 'Now for the Full Monty:
Drop sheet, open your arms towards me.'
Thinking, 'This is it', she let the sheet go,
descend to her feet, tanatalising slow.
raised arms as she turned as welcoming him.
nipples to the forefront, bikini line trim,

'Now go on the bed, your favourite pose."
I'll take you lengthwise from your head to toes,"
She sat on the mattress, onto her arms propped,
then turned on her front and to the sheet dropped.
She gave a quick brush to her loose hair style,
then he said, "Lie here and give your special smile",

Author's Note
Imagining a photographer of a nude at work. The picture is borrowed from Green Arrow's 'Great Party Wasn't It', (which I have turned on side to make sense) and thought would go well with the concluding verse of this poem.
