Where I'll Be
Where I'll Be
She has a habit
of abandoning
everything
and everyone
in a fit
of inconsolable pride.
When she
goes there,
in every far sense,
she just wishes
I simply
had died.
When she
gets foul triggered,
she bright neon wears
her heart
on her
ruffled up sleeves,
a thousand wounds
are bleeding
her out
as if standing
so tall
on her knees.
When it happens,
she says,
she don't need
nobody,
and that's
exactly that
that she means,
desperate now
she needs
somebody
to be stronger
than an obstinate mind
in its teens.
She's told me things
to rile me up,
to make me
straight mad
as a bear,
but all I did
was shake
my head
then look
her flat down
with a stare.
I told her then
where I would be,
Taco Tuesday,
a favorite
bright spot
in the week,
And she
found me there
as I had said
if she wanted
to know
what I seek.
I quietly sat,
and we ate
our fill,
and she
play acted like
her latest vile tirade
was really just
not a big deal,
but then
when done,
we walked
to the car
as she leaned
for a smoke
and a good night kiss,
just to glide
the reveal.
Nothing she'd said
really meant anything, talking trash
was just
how she talked.
But what
she'd said
was the final straw
and now
every limit
was blocked.
So,
saying it all,
I grabbed her firm
in my arms
and kissed
her lips,
neck,
and nipples
right there
in the parking lot.
She gasped
her eyes closed
and groaned
her release
as my hands
held her contours
so hot.
I told her goodbye,
that this
was the end,
that nothing
more needed
be us.
I was
finally there
no matter the flames,
I'd done my time
being shadow
thrown lazy
right under
the wheels
of her bus.
