Ode to Urania
Midnight is never quite as dark
As when the moon whirls anew
To wax on through its waning arc
For future moonbeams bright and true;
Now more dedicated to our dreams
Then they ever were on ancient nights
From demons and their nightmare screams
To angels on their golden flights
And all the chaos in between
Those frontiers of the midnight mind
Where thoughts have no command routine
Apart from being aether inclined,
Which is the same most welcoming air
Afflation and the psyche share!
As when the moon whirls anew
To wax on through its waning arc
For future moonbeams bright and true;
Now more dedicated to our dreams
Then they ever were on ancient nights
From demons and their nightmare screams
To angels on their golden flights
And all the chaos in between
Those frontiers of the midnight mind
Where thoughts have no command routine
Apart from being aether inclined,
Which is the same most welcoming air
Afflation and the psyche share!
