Another Fallen Star
Somehow you forgot that
Falling stars always leave behind
A darkness where they used to shine.
And there’s no such thing as a second try
When the curtain drops to say goodbye.
You chased the spotlight to the other side
And stared so long and it left you blind.
And no one really missed you at all-
Just another star about to fall.
How does it feel to be forgotten before you are gone?
The last line of a song that no one sings along.
How does it feel to blend into a crowd?
Waiting for applause but no one is around.
Oh how does it feel to be all by yourself?
Only Talking to things sitting on your shelf.
I hope you find peace in the silence
And pieces of yourself in the calm.
Remember you can’t grow flowers in the darkness
So do not stay there too long !

15 mins is just not enough for some people. i think it's better to at least have a go rather than criticising others in this world. they've been brave enough to take a chance and some might make it. but for most of us regular smuck's we'll never wear celebrity's brittle crown. most people aren't that interested anyway. too busy in the real world trying to put jam on their bread.
i like this. expertly written and sums up what happens to most people in the public eye. acceptance that it's over must be difficult when your star has fallen.
