Appeasement
don't mean to sound conceited
not trying to be so vain
some do it for the likes
but a true artist
doesn't need that kind of praise
yes, it's nice to see a familiar face
if they hear your words all the better
it kind of makes me sick
seeing my favorite poets turn ticks
putting out some watered down shit
I for one am not hear for appeasement
not looking for a date, or friendship
just have my soul that I spill on pages
one of these poets is not like the others
I see the world for what it is
and what it could be
haven't been brainwashed
by church or politics
all I have to offer is truth
in all it's ugliness
funny thing is
it's quite beautiful to me

I’ve never really mastered variable rhyming schemes, they never flow quite right, but I find yours flows quite naturally. Well done.

272 reads and 2 likes haha. I actually don't remember writing this. Through I do feel that poetry is one of self love. I do it for me and write what I like and how I like. I always appreciate any likes, read, or rl's I get. the fact anyone would take time to read my words means so much.
