Little Red Apples

Memories of little red apples
ripe from the orchard
and rainbows
where a tree once grew
and rain promised glory
in the spring rain
whooping as time flew by
as a young lad in love
and now the frost
covers the leaves
where once an apple tree
with blossoms for your hair
