these unnecessary coats of glass and metal

Author's Note
my photo, my visual etc.
another re-edited napo entry
The fingernail taps
around the edges;
the dusty sill
and sawdust of little reminders,
the all of every mote’d moment
that fall earthy onward
I am unable to course
without your wet plate hair,
your collodion-dapple’d stare,
your flower-chain dangling over me
and your breath
laying eggs, millimetre
birdnests under my throat
I cannot open the blinds,
unlock the door,
discern a plausibly real form
under the vitriol of artificial light.
I throw pales of silver nitrate
over hanging sheets
in hope of a silhouette.

The compressed metaphor & images in stanza 3 alone are breath-taking bud. The kind of sad beauty when Billy buried 'Kes' in the fields over which he flew.

Oh god yes, I heard that they were going to do a remake of some kind and I hope to all hell that they dont.
Thanks so much again Rob, always appreciated.

Dear N,
Beautiful photo. Beautiful poem. It pulled a few heart strings for me thinking of a lost love and feeling upended trying to navigate life without them. It’s wonderful to read your posts again. H🌷

Thank you so much Honoria. I don't know how long I will be sticking around. I am trying just to develop some of these Napo poems, hopefully get something useful from them.
Thanks so much again, glad to see you are still around.

Thanks so much again Rianne. My interest in photography has taken me to study the wet-plate collodian process. Such a beautiful art form, as much a study of chemistry as of anything else. The allegorical marriage of photography and poetry is so wonderfully interwoven, it was something I wanted to express somehow here. Thanks so much again, as always I really appreciate your thoughts.

It's wonderful to read and feel the nuanced musics of your writing again my friend. There is something of a simultaneous metaphor as the write unfolds, images both photographic, sensual, nostalgic, love and loss, dreams and what is encapsulated in more solid, solitary action as an artist. It's sublime to contemplate.

Thanks so much Daniel. You truly read poetry like no-one else here. Thanks again.
