There’s a saying among gay men
that we process it all in our 30s,
can finally mature
once youth has drawn back in its blades.
And like any saying or theme
it filters out
regardless of the heart in its way.

Even holding onto the mantra of "Selfwork, Selfhealing," I found it took me until my latest 40s to actually end-up processing anything. There's a lot of harsh in the world and .That just turned into a static and noise which drowned everything else out until the hurt couldn't take itself anymore, and said, "Enough!"
