Thin Lines
Underneath my smile
Holds a girl who isn't who you thought she was.
Underneath my eyes
Holds tears that just want to flood.
All my happiness
Is shown through a thin vale.
A vale of darkness and despair
Hides my innermost feelings.
I'm hiding in the shadows
I was hoping the pain would be over.
I wish for my heart to be spared
But it just continues to tear.
I'm at my breaking point
Cause i realize all i do is disappoint.
Everyone.
Every day.
In the worst possible ways.
But i stand my ground
Whether you like it or not.
I make my point clear
As i shed my final tear.
You will no longer hurt me
Cause i will not let you.

Just wanted to let you know I enjoyed this and it inspired me. I deal with a lot of the same feelings, all of the time like a macabre merry-go-round in my head, so I am aware of how difficult it is to get past them. Thanks for sharing this.
